Food 4 Kids Digital Drive To Benefit Kansas Food Bank

Food 4 Kids was established for students who are food insecure and who are not getting sufficient food outside of school on a regular basis. The Kansas Food Bank provides food and supplies to Food 4 Kids schools in Kansas, which are operated in partnership with community schools.

Food 4 Kids provides weekend food packets for children who are identified as chronically hungry. These are children, who through no fault of their own, do not have adequate meals provided to them when federal programs such as the school lunch program is not in session. The average cost per packet of food is $5. Packets contain all kid friendly, easy to open food that needs no preparation. For children who participate in the program come marked differences. Grades improve, behavioral problems diminish, attendance at school is better.

With school getting ready to start soon, the Kansas Food Bank is gearing up for its Food 4 Kids weekend backpack program along with iHeartMedia Wichita and Hatchett Automotive Group.
