Taylor Swift Lends Her Song To Biden-Harris 2020 Campaign Ad

Taylor Swift is continuing to endorse Joe Biden’s bid for the presidency.

The “Cardigan” singer-songwriter approved for one of her songs to be used in a campaign ad for the first time. In support of the former Vice President Biden and vice presidential candidate Kamala Harris’ ticket for the upcoming presidential election, Swift allowed her 2020 song “Only the Young” from her Miss Americana Netflix documentary to soundtrack a brand-new Biden-Harris political advert shared by Democratic Rep. Eric Swalwell on Friday (October 30).

The nearly two-minute-long visual features a montage of clips taken from across the nation highlighting issues such as the #MeToo movement, LGBTQ+ rights, racial injustice and the coronavirus pandemic.

The campaign ad comes weeks after Swift officially endorsed Biden and Harris in a cover story for V Magazine.

“The change we need most is to elect a president who recognizes that people of color deserve to feel safe and represented, that women deserve the right to choose what happens to their bodies, and that the LGBTQIA+ community deserves to be acknowledged and included,” Swift told the publication in this month's issue. “The only way we can begin to make things better is to choose leaders who are willing to face these issues and find ways to work through them.”

“I will proudly vote for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris in this year’s presidential election,” she added. “Under their leadership, I believe America has a chance to start the healing process it so desperately needs.”
