Selena Gomez is sharing how she copes with the often "isolating" nature of Hollywood.

While giving a speech at the Academy Women's Luncheon Presented by Chanel in Los Angeles on Tuesday (December 10), the "Love On" singer stressed the importance of finding space in a community of others who know what she is going through, such as the other actresses in the room during the event, per People.

"I know firsthand how isolating this industry will feel at times, but moments like this and rooms like this, and talking to all these amazing women just reminds me that I'm not alone, and we aren't alone," she said.

As for how she deals with the negative emotions, Gomez admitted to People on the red carpet that she uses humor to cope and remain positive, calling it a good distraction from the "noise."

"It's humor for me," she said. "I know people say it's a defense mechanism, however, I think it's a great distraction from all of the noise sometimes. And just to have a laugh with your friends or do something that can bring you a little bit of light."

The Rare Beauty founder also spoke about receiving nominations for the 2025 Golden Globes. Not only is she once again nominated for Best Actress in a TV series - Musical or Comedy for Only Murders in the Building, but she received a nod for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Emilia Pérez.

"I'm overwhelmed, very, very honored and grateful," she said. "I can't wait to see what happens."
