This masterpiece was released in 2017 and has amassed over 8 billion views (8,735,681,797 billion as of Thursday, June 5) since its creation eight years ago.

Winning record of the year at the 18th annual Latin GRAMMYS in 2017 (in addition to three other awards), the beloved tune was even remixed by Justin Bieber.

According to a list compiled by StereoGum, the most viewed music video on YouTube is Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s "Despacito."

Other music videos that made the list include Wiz Khalifa's "See You Again” (Feat. Charlie Puth) (released in 2015), Ed Sheeran's "Shape Of You" (released in 2017) PSY's "Gangnam Style" (released in 2012), and Mark Ronson's "Uptown Funk" (Feat. Bruno Mars) (released in 2014) to round out the top five.

It's safe to say the 2010s were the golden era of music videos!

Here's what StereoGum had to say about the most-watched YouTube music video of all time:

"There are more views on Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s “Despacito” video than there are estimated humans on Earth. Unfortunately, there’s absolutely nothing remarkable about its music video, which is just two rich and famous guys — one of whom willingly refers to himself as “Daddy” — dancing in a shanty town, a former Miss Universe winner (model Zuleyka Rivera) inexplicably hanging out among them. Everybody looks way better than they should, and there’s no mid-song skit or anything to disrupt the vibe of you, the viewer relaxing at home. With all of that considered, it shouldn’t be surprising that the 'Despacito' video is the most-viewed clip in YouTube’s history."
