Sedgwick County Sgt. Clayton Barth Rescues 4 People From Submerged Vehicle

Ya know what's making us happy today? Sedgwick County Sgt. Barth is making us happy!

Sgt. Barth was on his way to do an errand at work when he happened upon a traffic accident. A woman had lost control of her vehicle, crashed and landed in a creek. Sgt. Barth immediately jumped out of his car and ran to assist her. When he got to her, he was trying to talk to her and get her out of the vehicle. However the woman did not speak much English and couldn’t understand him. Sgt. Barth then noticed there were two children and another woman in the back of the car. He immediately emptied out his pockets and jumped into the water to help them. Barth got the driver’s door open and then opened the back door to get the kids, he grabbed one child and a woman in the backseat handed him the other and then waded across the creek, handed the kids off to some people on the bank and then went back to help each of the women out of the car and bring them to safety. Through Sgt. Barth’s quick actions and his willingness to help others, this story has a happy ending.
