We can all agree that you don't leave your baby alone in the car, right? Like... ever. For any reason. Any time of the year. Sadly, dozens of children still die every year from being forgotten in a hot car. It's a senseless tragedy.
We haven't quite reached the same consensus as a society on leaving a dog in a hot car, though. Some people still think that they can just "pop in real quick," and leave their furry best friend behind to hold down the fort. In just a few minutes, the interior of a car can reach a lethal temperature.
Thankfully, starting July 1st, Kansas will enact a "Good Samaritan" law that protects those who break windows to rescue animals and people in distress. Oh, and if you're animal has to be rescued from a hot car, you could end up in jail.
