When people make fun of you for being from Kansas... just remember, this is why we love our state! The people are the best!
Absolute Sound is a wedding DJ from Wichita who shared this sweet story of a stranger going out of his way to help out a couple on their wedding day. The facebook post says:
Weddings are a time for sharing. A time for a couple to share the most important day of their life with the most important people in their lives.
This is Brian and Jessica during their wedding ceremony. They invited a collection of their friends and family to share in their celebration. Each person here had been a part of their lives either as a friend, or a family member for many years, with the exception of one person.
The gentleman that you see seated towards the back of the ceremony with the overalls in the red shirt, just met Brian and Jessica today. You see, he was driving and noticed a box on the side of the road. He stopped out of curiosity, looked in the box. Inside of it, there were two champagne flutes, meant to be used at a wedding today.
He knew as soon as he opened the box that these were special to someone, and that they would be missing them. He noticed that there was an address on the outside of the box. He drove a considerable distance to the address in order to make every effort to get them to their owner.
He was eventually able to track down Brian, and met him in order to get the glasses to him. Brian was extremely grateful, and invited him to attend their wedding.
He met Jessica shortly thereafter, and there was an instant connection with the three of them. Seeing him at their wedding, he almost seemed like family.
Truth be told, being able to spend today with Brian and Jessica on their wedding day meant the world to him. Today was bittersweet for him, today marked the one year anniversary of the day that he lost his wife. He thought that he'd be spending this day alone. Instead he spent today with a group of new friends. This was special to witness, and I was honored to be a part of it.
