Wichita Girl Going to Hollywood on American Idol

Last August, 16-year-old Emma Grace Smith won the KAKE Idol contest in Wichita... which meant she had a guaranteed audition in front of producers for the current season of American Idol. She made that cut, too, and was able to audition for the celebrity judges. Emma's nerves got the best of her in that room, and judges Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan thought she needed a little more performing experience before moving on. But Katy Perry saw something special in Emma, and used her only veto power, a silver ticker, to send her to Hollywood! The Hollywood episode airs this weekend, so we'll have to wait and see what happens next.

Let's back up real quick. Before all the American Idol excitement, Emma was already singing on the radio. 10 years ago, Emma Grace won a competition for Taylor Swift tickets, and sang on the radio for the very first time on right here B98! Check out the video below:
