If you know me, you know that I spend any available spare moment taking Kansas back roads searching for interesting things. Well, years ago I found the Old Oxford Mill. It's hidden in a wooded area just north of the town of Oxford in Sumner County. It's located less than 45 minutes south of Wichita.
There's a very cool trail by the Old Mill. I've walked it numerous times and I've seen deer, armadillos and even wild turkeys while trekking on that trail.
My favorite thing about the Old Oxford Mill is that students from Oxford High School manage a restaurant inside the Old Mill one day a week. They are open on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The students do it all. They prepare a great menu each week (very affordable). They also manage the restaurant and do all of the jobs a restaurant staff would do. They do an incredible job.
