Things To Do In Doo-Dah

AUG. 11-12, 2017

Location: Sedgwick County Extension Office, 7001 W. 21st St. N., Wichita, KS 67205 

Captain ICT welcomes you to Wichita’s newest home for all things science fiction, comics, literature, movies and horror films. Two days of fandom fun bringing panels, celebrity guests, gaming, art contests, super heroes and Wichita’s only sci-fi expo. Plus, it’s free!


AUG. 12, 2017 

Time: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission: SOLD OUT (as of afternoon of August 11, 2017)

Location: INTRUST Bank Arena, 500 E. Waterman, Wichita, KS 67202

Join us for a one-of-a-kind event with all-you-can-eat wings, a beer garden featuring select local craft beer options, entertainment and music from a live DJ.

Fans will have the opportunity to sample chicken wings from more than 20 restaurants and local chefs who will be showcasing their culinary flare and competing for the best chicken wings in Wichita. Participating restaurants and chefs will vie for two awards at the event: a People’s Choice Award (aka "Lord of the Wings") and a Judge’s Choice Award.

80s rock at its best along with a Pearl Jam tribute somewhere in the middle. Everyone is invited but we want teachers to get out especially and enjoy your last weekend of freedom before getting back to school.

Celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Chisholm Trail with an art exhibit paying tribute to the ways of the Wild West. Head out to this special gallery only available through Aug. 19. While you’re there, check out WAM’s “Heritage of the West” exhibit portraying the life of a cowboy painted by cowboy himself, Charles Russell.
