Music Theatre Wichita becomes one of the first regional theatres in the nation to create its own brand-new version of the megahit show “Newsies,” featuring spectacular dances, catchy songs and the compelling true story of resilient newsboys at the turn of the 20th century.

Are you looking for a great way to spend the final days of summer? Head to the Wichita Art Museum for a great mash-up of fun, live music, art and an electric vibe to your evening. Kansas City artist Asheer Akram brings his Pakistani Cargo Truck Initiative, a 1952 Chevrolet grain truck crafted as a traditional Pakistani-style cargo vehicle with a Midwest twist.
2017 IRON CHILEHEAD COMPETITION

At this competition, each food truck and brewery creates menus and beers including roasted Hatch Green Chile, which will be judged by local food and beer judges for the coveted Iron ChileHead trophy. Plus, attendees can enjoy live music presented by the party punk polka band – The Bolzen Beer Band from Lincoln, NE. All ages are welcome; the beerfest portion is a ticketed event to 21+ only. Included with your ticket is a commemorative tasting glass, Iron ChileHead sticker and unlimited beer samples from more than 15 breweries across the region. Tickets are available at both Johnson’s Garden Center locations and online.
VINTAGE BASEBALL AT OLD COWTOWN MUSEUM

Location: Old Cowtown Museum, 1865 W. Museum Blvd., Wichita, KS 67203
This vintage baseball club was formed to bring a circa 1870s baseball experience to Old Cowtown Living History Museum and its visitors. The “Red Stockings” and the “Bull Dozers” plan a full season of baseball games, exhibitions and demonstrations for the entire family. Teams play per the rules of the National League of 1876 or the National Association of Baseball Players from the early 1860s.
