Get into the holiday spirit by making your own gingerbread house and experiencing the Butler Community College School of Hospitality and Culinary Arts as students create a giant gingerbread village in the middle of Exploration Place. This holiday tradition is presented by The Assistance League of Wichita.

 

VETERAN’S POWWOW

Immerse yourself in the Native culture as the Wichita Kansas Intertribal Warrior Society presents a Veteran’s Powwow to honor all current and past military personnel. With a ceremonial flag raising, gourd dancing and intertribal dancing, there will be entertainment and fun for the whole family. The event is free to attend, but bring money for food and vendors.

Wichita Veteran’s Day Parade

  • Also for Veteran’s Day, you can enjoy a Veterans Day Parade in downtown Wichita.
  • The parade begins at 11 a.m. at Murdock & Central and runs south down Main Street to WaterWalk.
  • After parade activities are located at WaterWalk.
  • Sponsored by Spirit Aerosystems and presented in partnership with USD 259 JROTC.

And don’t forget the Veteran’s Memorial. The park honors those who served our country and covers all branches of the military with plaques and sculptures. You can pay homage to our fallen heroes and learn more about the sacrifice so many gave during their time in combat.
