Busy First Weekend Of 2018 In Wichita!

It's the first weekend of 2018.  There's lots going on around Wichita.  You have the option to watch hockey, or see how good of a skater you are.  There's also something BIG opening at 13th & Rock Road this weekend.  Here's a list of things to do in Doo-Dah, compliments of my friends at Visit Wichita.

WICHITA THUNDER VS. QUAD CITY

The Wichita Thunder are in town this weekend with games versus Quad City and Kalamazoo.  Doors open at 6 p.m.; puck drops at 7:05 p.m.


MARY R. KOCH ARTS CENTER: UNVEILING EVENT

JAN. 6, 2017

Time: 9:45 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission: Free

The public is invited to tour the new $20 million Mary R. Koch Arts Center during an unveiling event on Saturday, Jan. 6. A special ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place at 9:45 a.m. followed by tours from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event will include activities along with art and cooking demonstrations in the new studios, which for the first time includes studio space built specifically for culinary arts, digital arts and children.

Join Wichita Ice Center on Saturday, January 6, for their Great to Skate Open House. Skaters of all ages and skill levels are welcome to experience what the center’s Learn to Skate classes are like with a free 30-minute lesson. There will also be games and exhibitions from our competitive Figure Skaters, Hockey Players, & Speed Skaters. Celebrate new beginnings and get a jumpstart on your New Year’s resolution with a stroll through one of Wichita’s favorite parks. Meet at the Pawnee Prairie Park Nature Center off Tyler Road at 9 a.m., and then hike the trails of the park with your family and pets. Dress warm and wear comfortable shoes.

It’s Faith & Family Night with the Wichita Thunder as they take on the Kalamazoo Wings. Get your tickets for only $10 by using the code: FAITH. OLD TOWN FARMER’S MARKET – WINTER MARKET

Visitors can find locally-grown and raised products throughout the winter months at the Old Town Farmer’s Market in downtown Wichita. With access to fresh veggies, meat and poultry as well as handmade artisan goods and prepared food vendors, the market offers something for everyone. Visitors can find breakfast and brunch options, or enjoy cocktails during this indoor market that happens every Saturday through April 15, 2018.
