It's so hard to be that Riverfest kicks off 15 days from now. The largest party of the summer in Kansas, the 47th Wichita Riverfest, is set to kick off June 1 in downtown Wichita, and consists of nine days of fun and excitement along the Arkansas River.
Visitors can expect all the beloved Riverfest traditions like the cardboard regatta, Jet Ski races, food court and Kid’s Corner, but there are also many new activities this year:
Squonk Opera
Began more than 20 years ago in a Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Show brings human-powered stages celebrating bicycles and sustainable energy with a side of chamber rock music
Six musicians play on giant moving stages powered by six cyclists beneath them
The Last Carnival
Circus school out of Lawrence, Kansas
Performers put on a show including acrobats, aerialists and contortionists; help others learn how to juggle or spin plates
Includes opportunity for crowd to take a picture on a giant trapeze several feet off the ground
XPogo Stunt Team
Extreme pogo sport team puts on an exhilarating show
Currently the team holds 13 Guinness World Records
Have done more than 10,000 live performances in 23 countries
Paul Bunyon Lumberjack Show
Professionals put on a show involving log rolling, wood chopping, sawing and axe-throwing
World champion lumberjacks perform daily during Wichita Riverfest
Wichita eSports
College teams and general population teams are invited to compete for prizes in the first Wichita eSports competition at Wichita Riverfest

Dinosaur Day
Celebrate the new Field Station: Dinosaurs with a Dino Dig at Wichita Riverfest
Kids will get to dig for fossils and dinosaur bones.
22ndAnnual Spring KidFest
KidFest is moving to Riverfest this year, offering video game zones, inflatables and other activities for kids
Parents and children get in free with a Riverfest button. There will also be appearances by Marvel superheroes like Thor and Black Panther
