t's the final weekend of June and we have some cool things going on around Wichita.  Here's a list of a few things from Visit Wichita.  Have a safe weekend.

MUSIC THEATRE OF WICHITA: GUYS & DOLLS

Guys & Dolls tells the story of gambler Nathan Detroit choosing a location for a big game. He needs $1,000 to pay for a venue, which turns out to be a garage. To win the money, Nathan bets Sky Masterson he (Sky) cannot get a virtuous girl (Sarah Brown) to go out on a date with him. Catch this classic at Century II, as Music Theatre Wichita brings it to life on stage.

 

THE DRUNKEN BOTANIST

Enjoy a cocktail created by mixologists from Glaziers and House of Schwan while learning about beautiful flora from the zoo’s expert horticulturists. You will be guided by a Sedgwick County Zoo horticulturist and a mixologist, so make sure to arrive on time. Groups will begin walking promptly, with tours lasting from 6 to 8 p.m. Enjoy amazing food with your cocktail at each stop.

The Final Friday Art Crawl happens the last Friday of each month. Art galleries, museums, restaurants and retail shops around Wichita stay open late and welcome visitors. BRING IT ON HOME: BLUES AT THE KANSAS AFRICAN AMERICAN MUSEUM

Celebrate the blues, its history and legacy, with photographs and interactive displays. At 7, enjoy barbecue by Jodee B’s Catering and performances by several local blues artists. This event will also kick off The Kansas African American History Trail.

Celebrate independence at Cowtown with good old-fashioned fun! Watch vintage baseball, catch a gunfight, see the saloon girls, play carnival games and watch as the King and Queen of Cowtown are crowned.
