Things Do Do On Wichita's Birthday Weekend!

Wichita’s 148th Birthday Party at Wichita-Sedgwick Co. Historical Museum

The Museum is celebrating Wichita’s birthday from 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturday.  It’s the 148th anniversary of the founding of Wichita (founded in 1870) • View Wichita’s remarkable history wandering the four floors of the Museum’s exhibits.  Enjoy special tours, crafts, activities.  There will also be refreshments in Heritage Square.  Bring a birthday card and get in FREE.


LevelUP Wichita

It's Saturday from 2 to 11 p.m. at the parking garage at William & Market in downtown Wichita.  The Sutton Place garage at William and Market will be transformed into a party space filled with vendors, live music, exhibits, yard games, craft beer options and tons of other activities.  Head to the top for a live DJ and breathtaking view of the city.  Made possible by an Up the Ambition grant from the Wichita Community Foundation.  This is a free, public event.


Splash Party at Osage Park

Saturday from 1-3 p.m. at Osage Park in Wichita (near 31st & Meridian).  Looking for a great way to celebrate Wichita and beat the summer heat? The city’s Park and Recreation team is setting up a splash party at Osage Park.  Kids of all ages are invited to partake in water inflatables, a duck pond, squirt gun games and many other activities.  It's free to attend.


Summer Birthday Bash at Wichita Art Museum

Saturday from 1-3 p.m. at the Wichita Art Museum.  They're sharing their 83rd birthday with our great city.  Guests will enjoy an old-fashioned ice cream social with the Wichita Wagonmasters.  Nifty Nut House will provide an array of delicious toppings.  The Wichita Steel Drum Band will provide entertainment, and there will be a chance to join in on community art project while you’re there. Admission and ice cream are FREE.


Pretty Prairie Rodeo

Kansas' Largest Night Rodeo is this weekend in Pretty Prairie.  It's a short drive from Wichita.  It's family friendly and happens once a year.  Click Here for tickets and more details!


Sedgwick County Fair in Cheney

It's the final weekend of the Sedgwick County Fair in Cheney.  You can check lots of activities for the entire family.  There's lots of food, vendor booths , carnival rides, concerts and more!  Saturday is the finals of Fair's Got Talent.  Almost every event at the fair is free.  The carnival and grandstand events require paid admission.  Click Here for more details!
