AVENUE ART DAYS

Location: Various locations in downtown Wichita/Douglas Design District
Wichita is getting a makeover as local artists work to create masterpieces throughout the Douglas Design District and downtown Wichita. Celebrate a dozen new pieces of art during Avenue Art Days 2018 and catch all the current murals during the Avenue Art Days Mural Crawl on Sept. 23.
2018 WICHITA WAGONMASTERS DOWNTOWN CHILI COOKOFF
SEPT. 22, 2018
Time: Noon-3:30 p.m. Admission: Free; Tasting kits $5
Location: Downtown Wichita
Are you hungry? Head to downtown Wichita for the 35th annual Wichita Wagonmasters Downtown Chili Cookoff for your chance to try some award-winning chili, chili verde and salsa. The chef who makes the best chili and is named Grand Champion will take home $1,000 and International Chili Society members who win will land a ticket to the World Chili Cookoff in St. Louis next weekend.
SMITHSONIAN MUSEUM DAY

Time: Museum hours vary Admission: Free, with ticket
Location: Various museums in downtown Wichita
Smithsonian Museum Day is an annual event providing free admission for two people into natural history museums like the Museum of World Treasures, Wichita Art Museum and Wichita-Sedgwick Co. Historical Museum. Visitors must have a ticket and each ticket is only good for two people at one museum.
OPEN STREETS ICT 2018

Time: Noon-4 p.m. Admission: Free
Location: Downtown Wichita
Get active as a stretch of downtown Wichita is shut down for the community to come out and walk, bike or roll their way through the city during Open Streets ICT. This initiative was started to promote health and lower the amount of emissions in the area. Join in on all the fun with live music/entrainment, vendors, crafts, and activities for all ages.
