Tasty Trip Not Too Far From Wichita

We recently made a last-minute decision to hit the road for a Friday night dinner.  It was a great decision!  We drove about 70 miles north of Wichita to the small town of Durham, Kansas.  There's just over 100 people in the town, but the Main Street Cafe makes the population surge on Friday nights between 5-8 p.m.  That's when they feature their German Buffet.  My friend Denise Neil from the Wichita Eagle recently posted a feature about this gem.  So, Kristi and I got in the car and decided to check it out.  It wasn't a long drive at all.  Just look out for deer.  It's that time of the year.

Owned and operated by Wendell and Linda Wedel, the Main Street Cafe in Durham, Kansas, is known across the state and across the nation for its “Good Ole Country Cooking.” They offer a little bit of everything, but they specialize in our varieties of homemade sausage and our freshly baked, homemade pies. We look forward to serving you!

The Friday night German Buffet is incredible.  It features German favorites such as vereniki, cherry moas and sauerkraut.  Their sausage is awesome, too!

Here's some pics that I took from our visit.  We hope to get back up there soon.  You oughta try it out, as well!
