Having Company This Week? Here's What You Can Do.

Thanksgiving week is upon is.  That means many of us will have family and friends visiting our fine city.  My friends at Visit Wichita have a list of things to get us out of the house.  Here's some things you can do.  Be safe and enjoy your time with family and friends.  Happy Thanksgiving!


NOV. 23-DEC. 22, 2018 

Time: Show starts at 6:30 p.m.; gates open at 5 p.m. Admission: $35 for adults; $10 kids

Location: Prairie Rose Chuckwagon Supper,

Starting the day after Thanksgiving, Prairie Rose Chuckwagon transforms into a Christmas wonderland, providing an old-fashioned Christmas gathering place. Gates open at 5 p.m., so get there early for Christmas movies inside the two theaters, warm up in the Opera House by the large stone fireplace, Christmas shopping in the Prairie Rose Mercantile and if weather allows, horse-drawn carriage rides. Then, enjoy a delicious and satisfying meal as the Prairie Rose Rangers bring to the stage both Cowboy Christmas songs, as well as timeless Christmas favorites. Reservations are required.

The holiday season is upon us, and the day after Thanksgiving brings tons of holiday-themed events to Wichita. From horse-drawn carriage rides in Old Town and Bradley Fair to live shows like Jewel’s Handmade Holiday Tour at the Orpheum Theatre, there’s something for all ages. Christmas experiences at Prairie Pines, Prairie Rose Chuckwagon Supper, OJ Watson Park and Field Station: Dinosaurs bring the family together for a little taste of holiday cheer. Experience more than 1 million dazzling holiday lights at Botanica Wichita’s annual tradition, Illuminations. With more than 30 themed gardens decked out in luminaries, you’ll enjoy a stroll through a winter wonderland. This display is all outdoors, so bundle up and stop by the Blitzen Bistro & Bar for hot chocolate or warm snacks.

Pay your respects to the King of Pop with this magnificent tribute honoring the late, great Michael Jackson. Danny Dash Andrews has performed nationally as a Michael Jackson tribute artist for years and has gained respect captivating audiences with his mimicry and smooth style that would make Jackson himself proud.
