For nearly 50 years (est. 1972), the Wichita Jazz Festival has been celebrating the history and legacy of jazz music. This weeklong festival of music kicks off at 5 p.m. on March 22 with the WSU Jazz Invitational at Miller Concert Hall on the Wichita State campus. The festival runs March 22-31, and features performances by high school and college musicians, local artists and regionally and nationally-known headliners.

There’s still time to register for the inaugural Chisholm Trail Marathon or Chisholm Trail Half Marathon in downtown Wichita. Wichita’s newest marathon puts runners on a path through history along the original Chisholm Trail. This Boston Marathon qualifier is a USATF and RRCA certified course allowing participants to run the same Streets Wyatt Earp once walked.
