I got the chance to get a sneak peek of the new Coney Island Hot Weiners in Delano. It's set to open to the public Monday, July 29th. Since 1926, Coney Island Hot Weiners has served up its classic coney, a small hot dog served on a flour bun with chili, cheese, onions and mustard. Coney Island Hot Weiners’ original chili recipe is a proprietary blend of spices and is made daily. Greek immigrant, Christ Economou, began his Coney Island Hot Weiners concept after landing on Ellis Island. He took this unique concept across the country following the railroad tracks down the east coast. Economou opened coney stores along the way then selling them to other Greek immigrants providing them with a means to make a living. Economou introduced his Coney Island Hot Wieners concept to Tulsa in 1926. His legacy continues to be a vibrant part of the downtown Tulsa dining scene today. Now, customers may enjoy these American traditions in Wichita. Check it out starting Monday!
