NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM: MOONSTRUCK

WAM’s annual event brings a great mash-up of fun antics, live music, art, and an electric vibe to a summer

night. In celebration of the epic July 1969 moon landing and the exhibition Light & Shadow: Alyson Shotz and

Kumi Yamashita, this event starts indoors for art viewing and live bluegrass music from The DeWayn Brothers.

Then, head outdoors when the sun goes down for food trucks, outdoor cash bar, moon gazing with telescopes

and insight provided by Kansas Astronomical Observers, and moon songs performed by Opera Kansas.

Celebrate National Honey Bee Day on Aug. 17 with this Bee Tour and Honey Tasting Experience at Botanica

Wichita. Enjoy a short tour of Alexander Bee House and delicious honey on site. Some honeys burst with caramel

or butterscotch flavors; others taste grassy. Learn to appreciate the taste nuances of honey through a flight

2019 PUBLIC GRAPE HARVEST

It’s a winemaking experience unlike any other, as you become the first step in the process at the Grace Hill Winery

Public Grape Harvest. Join the picking every Saturday morning throughout August and September for about 2-3

hours each day. Once the picking is done, the harvest crew is led on a tour of the winery to see the grape crushing

and pressing in action. Then, enjoy lunch with wine (or super fresh grape juice for the little ones).
